In September, 2015 MUSE, Cincinnati’s Women’s Choir, relocated its offices and rehearsal space to the Community Matters’ campus at 2104 St. Michael Street in Lower Price Hill.
“We are very excited to partner with Community Matters, whose goals of removing barriers to opportunity and developing community fit so well with MUSE’s commitment to social change,” wrote MUSE’s Artistic Director Rhonda Juliano and then Board President Mary Chaiken in a joint letter to the choir in July.
Established in 2012, Community Matters grew out of Education Matters, a 1971 initiative encouraging Lower Price Hill students to complete high school. Community Matters has received major funding from federal and local sources to establish a five-building campus offering programs reflecting its mission to remove barriers to opportunity.
For nearly 30 years, MUSE was headquartered at St. John’s Unitarian Universalist Church in Clifton. The move to Community Matters was prompted by the need for more rehearsal and office space.
