This year, we centralize the honoring of our bodies and celebrate how they are physical manifestations of our diverse identities.
We aim to empower and enlighten: Through song, we advocate for the autonomy of our bodies and uplift our differences through lenses of gender, size, disability, and race, by composers who live in these spaces themselves.
From incisive texts about society’s need for change to tongue-in-cheek messages about body image, our program spans the gamut of genres from pop, protest anthem, and choral art song. We look forward to sharing this celebration with our audience and to move those who sing with and hear us to work for our autonomy of physical identities and expressions.
Join us January 26 & 27 in the Probasco Auditorium on the campus of University of Cincinnati, in partnership with the UC Women's Center for their Body Justice Week.
In Partnership with the University of Cincinnati’s Women’s Center
The UC Women's Center is committed to the personal and professional growth of women and gender non-conforming students by facilitating action toward intersectional gender equity, promoting social justice, and fostering connections for all students. Ways to Support
We’re grateful to our sponsors and Friends of MUSE for helping make this concert free. Why is it free? Because the concert is performed in conjunction with the University of Cincinnati’s Women’s Center, which is a student organization. Student events such as this one must have free admission, even though it is open to the public. We feel it is our responsibility to provide a cost-free experience for students anyway, and are happy to oblige!

Concert Artwork: About the Artist
Sea Dax (he/they) is a queer multimedia visual artist, poet, DIY enthusiast, and singer/songwriter. His work is primarily autobiographical, featuring self portraiture, work of/about people in his life, personal writings, and collections of personal ephemera.
Their work is intimate and hands on in both physicality and content. There are often notes of nostalgia, longing, meaning-making, and a prioritization of imagery of fat and queer bodies. More recently, they have begun utilizing digital mediums as well, and are in process of creating a custom tarot deck.
